Summer and year-round internships, GED assistance, vocational training and more! We have programs specifically designed for your unique interests and needs.

 

 

PROGRAMS

 

Western Indiana Employment and Training Services, Inc., is the designated provider of Workforce Investment Act (WIA) services within the counties of Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo. Services and programs provided for youth place an emphasis upon linking school-based learning with work-based learning opportunities. Programs which may be available to eligible participants include:

 

- Tutoring

- Adult Mentoring

 

- Occupational Skills Training

- Alternative Secondary School Services

- Follow-up Services

- Comprehensive Guidance Counseling

 

- Leadership Development Opportunities

- Paid and Unpaid Work Experience

- Summer Employment Opportunities

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

Eligible participants are youth ages 14 through 21 years of age who meet federally established income guidelines and possess significant barriers to employment, such as, being behind grade level. Additional resources may also be made available for On-the-job training (OJT), classroom training/tuition reimburssement, transportation costs and assistance with childcare expenses.
